School-To-Work is an educational program in which the school and business join together to provide the second semester senior with an apprenticeship experience. The apprenticeship affords the student an opportunity to learn desired occupational skills that will enhance and enrich their classroom learning and facilitate the transition from school to the workplace. The apprenticeship should be in a field in which the student has a career interest.
STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A second semester senior who has passed all sections of the 9th Grade Proficiency Test and will qualify for graduation may participate in the School-To-Work program.
2. The student must have a 2.000 cumulative GPA or better and have missed fewer than six (6) days of school by the end of the 1st semester of the senior year.
3. Students who wish to participate in School-To-Work will secure an application packet from the Guidance Department. The application must be completed and returned to Miss Brown by December 15.
4. Students will earn one half credit for successful completion of their School-To-Work placement.
